The challenge
Ship owners and fleet managers were running operations on fragmented spreadsheets and a patchwork of disconnected third-party tools. Vessel data, crew records, maintenance schedules and compliance documents lived in separate places, making it slow and risky to keep a fleet coordinated between shore teams and vessels at sea.

- 01Designed a centralized platform where vessel data, crew records, maintenance and compliance share a single, real-time data source across shore and ship.
- 02Built interconnected modules — HSEQ & ISM, Crew Management, Planned Maintenance (PMS), Operations, Procurement & Inventory, and Certificates — to streamline each workflow end to end.
- 03Structured the system around modern maritime standards (SIRE 2.0, TMSA, IMO DCS, EU MRV) and added automated certificate-expiry alerts to prevent port-state-control detentions and insurance breaches.
- 04Shipped native iOS and Android apps so captains, inspectors and shore-based technical managers can handle approvals, inspections and reports on the go, plus integrated analytics and KPI dashboards for route and cost optimisation.
The outcome
ASCO replaced scattered spreadsheets with one connected environment that fleet teams rely on daily. Delivered over a 12-month engagement by a team of eight, the Bit Ship Management System is now operational on vessels, deployable as cloud SaaS or on-premises to fit each company's security and infrastructure needs.
